Tough Competition between William Hill & Bet365

The novelty in sportsbetting is the in-play betting; one can bet while the game is in progress. Players are enjoying this long awaited option and it has proved to be an excellent source of revenue for the online betting industry as compared to traditional over the counter betting, which has not been doing that great lately.

The IPT (In-Play Tracker) report as released by the Gambling Compliance Limited, the leading information provider of regulatory news, analysis and data for the global gaming industry, shows that the top two contenders in this field are William Hill and Bet365. This report is based on April 2011 stats over a 14 days survey period.

Bet365 offered in-play betting on 20 sports and 534 events, Sportingbet came second on 358, then Bwin on 317, Ladbrokes on 313 and finally William Hill on 297.

However William Hill has the first place in terms of possible bets per event, with an average of 53, while Ladbrokes was only on 30 then Sportingbet on 25, Bet365 on 24 and Bwin on 23.

The IPT reports that the dominance of in-play between top sportsbetting companies. They are all trying to offer the best and most options. It also shows that more innovative betting methods like in-play should be offered to players. So other sportsbooks should go with the flow.  As William Hill and Bet365 are struggling to be the Number One in the online gambling industry, it would be good to see how they intend to reach the top spot.
